TUESDAY'S PICTURE BOOK: "SHAKE DEM HALLOWEEN BONES" by W. Nikola-Lisa

Yesterday I read this darling book to all of the 1st graders and Kinders and they LOVED it.  It starts off quiet and mysterious like and then goes straight into a fun song or rhyme that HAS GOT MORE RYTHMN THAN THEY COULD CONTAIN.  Spontaneously, they began to tap their toes, then stomp their feet and then toward the end I let them get up and really shake dem Halloween bones.  It was a riot to see them do it so spontaneously and we all were laughing and clapping by the time it was over.  You don't have to sing it, just say it with a jazzy voice.

AND HAVE FUN!

"Shake, shake, shake dem Halloween bones."
I said, "Shake, shake, shake, dem Halloween bones,
At the hip hop Halloween ball!"
